Level 3 is an international facilities-based provider of integrated communications services, based in Broomfield, Colorado. Level 3 operates one of the largest IP backbones in the world, with approximately 25,000 miles of metro fiber networks in 125 markets, an intercity network of approximately 73,000 miles in North America and Europe, and approximately 6.7 million square feet of gateway and transmission facilities in North America and Europe. Level 3 has been a consolidator in the industry, having recently purchased Broadwing, Savvis' CDN operations, Telcove, Looking Glass Networks, Progress Telecom, and WilTel.
