Broad Scope, Deep Coverage

The equity research team of Raymond James & Associates consists of more than 55 analysts covering approximately 970 companies operating in eight core industries:  Consumer; Energy; Financial Services; Healthcare; Real Estate; Technology; Telecommunications; and Transportation and Industrial Services.  We are a top 5 provider of U.S. equity research based on companies under coverage.

Our research analysts and their teams seek attractive niches within broader industries and then cover these sectors deeply to develop differentiated sector expertise and relationships.  While our focus is middle- and small-capitalization companies, our go deep philosophy typically results in our coverage of large, medium, and small companies across the sector; overall, about one-quarter of our coverage universe is large-cap companies.

One hallmark of our analyst team is experience; our senior research analysts average 13 years of sell-side experience, and many have extensive professional experience in the industries they now cover.  In addition, more than half of our analysts have been recognized for their work by noted publications such as The Wall Street Journal and Institutional Investor and in the StarMine survey, as published in Forbes and The Financial Times (details here).

Our fundamental research is complemented by the work of our Chief Market Technician, Investment Strategist, and Chief Economist.  Finally, our recommended lists provide investors with a final bit of focus to cull our 900-company coverage universe down to select lists of stocks that we believe provide particularly timely investments with superior performance potential.  These recommended lists include the annual Analysts Best Picks, the regularly updated Analyst Current Favorites, and the bi-monthly publications the Equity Income Report and the Sector Spotlight.
